    Yeah, so this Libertarian dude in Republican skin made me think…

    You know, in physics units of measure are always rooted with some quantity in nature. For example a meter is defined as “the length of the path travelled by light in vacuum during a time interval of 1/299 792 458 of a second.” (I had to look up the number. :> ) Thats desired because nature = concrete = real. So you would think a system where one dollar equals blah-blah units of gold in Fort Knox would be a good idea. That is, the paper in your wallet refers to a “real” object, not some arbitrary abstraction subject to all sorts of government exploitation and instabilities.

    Ok, rant is over. Need to hit an ATM.
